On Friday, June 14, Mr. Putney’s AP U.S. Government and Politics students completed a community service project.
Students had identified the need to replace the John Tehonica Field sign and explored remediation options. The students settled on completely replacing the sign with a new design.
The sign and materials were purchased from Heuvelton businesses, Obvious Signs and JP Building Supply. Dylan Demers thought it would be fitting to offer the sign to Coach Tehonica and his family. The old sign was cleaned up and pending school board approval for the June 26 board meeting. Once approved, it will officially be turned over to the Tehonica family. Mr. Putney will be delivering the old sign to Coach Tehonica’s son Josh, in Pennsylvania this summer.
